This is how some celebrities experienced the Bogotá earthquake

Around noon on Thursday, August 17, several central parts of the country, including the capital, became the epicenter of a 6.1-magnitude seismic event. strong aftershocks after the first quake.

In this regard, Claudia López, Mayor of Bogotá, reported that all disaster prevention and response mechanisms are being implemented to provide relief to all affected by the natural phenomenon, and also stated that the respective entities have already carried out the corresponding tasks to determine in which parts of the city were damaged.

Now, in addition to the president, there were several public figures who spoke out after the telluric movement, both to report their status and to express with their followers how they endured the moments of fear that occurred during the earthquake.

Among these figures, several famous Colombian show business people stood out, such as Alina Lozano, Carlos Vargas, Mary Méndez and others.

For his part, the presenter Carlos Vargas shared with his followers how the exact moment when he started shaking was for him. It was inside the channel and they had to be evacuated because of the force with which the earthquake was felt in the capital: “In Bogotá it felt strong (…) They evacuated us once,” he said, showing it of the site’s lamps moved with one of the aftershocks.

Likewise, his former program partner, the also presenter Mary Méndez, published the strong images of the movement in his apartment on his social networks. Méndez expressed how terrified she was during the quake, revealing to her followers that her greatest fear is dying in the middle of a natural phenomenon of this type.

“I am totally shocked after the earthquake right now. It was horrible. Me, I’m not afraid of death, but I’m afraid of the way to die. My biggest fear is to come in an earthquake,” the communicator initially said. At the end, she shows the interior of her house and is heard to say: “It is now shaking again,” said the presenter.

Others who also spoke about this event were former Colombian queens Gabriela Tafur and Laura Barjum, who reported from their location that the event took them completely by surprise.
