Disney+ will ban account sharing starting in October

Sharing streaming service accounts will gradually no longer be possible. Following Netflix’s announcement in recent months, Disney+ is now joining this initiative and will ban this option from October.

According to the platform, which has updated the terms of the subscription contract, it will first implement this measure in Canada and, depending on the results, could be launched worldwide.

Disney+ has determined that “you may not share your subscription outside the home,” with “home” defined as “the collection of devices associated with your primary personal residence, to the extent they are used by people who live there.”

However, so far the platform has not detailed how this restriction will work or what alternatives users may have.

On the other hand, in some European countries, a subscription plan with advertisements will be implemented from November 1.
