‘Loki 2: Marvel tries to repeat the success formula with a commitment to the multiverse

The character of God of Deception (Tom Hiddleston) returns to the small screen this Thursday to face the consequences of the decisions of Sylvie (Sophia di Martino) – her other self in the multiverse – as she teams up with Mobius M. Mobius, Hunter B-15 and other members of the Authority of Temporal Variation (TVA).

This fictional organization that monitors the timelines in this series, the first to bet decisively on the different multiverses, again plays a key role in the second episode of “Loki”, which It will consist of 6 episodes in total.

And the beginning of this season ties in with the end of the first through the murder of “He who remains”, a variant of Kang, at the hands of Sylvie, creating a chaos of parallel realities.

So, “Loki 2” combines originality thanks to new subplots and characters, such as Ke Huy Quan himself, along with the familiarity of recognizable fictional devices and time jumps that even make this series somewhat ‘predictable’ for some critics.

However, what makes this series ‘different’ for so many other experts is the construction of the protagonists and the relationships that Loki and Mobius, among others, maintain, so that the weight of the story is no longer so much on Hiddleston and there is more variety. and depth is added to the cast.

Kevin R. Wright, co-executive producer of “Loki 2,” He highlighted this aspect during an interview with EFE ahead of the launch, stating that “one of the many reasons” why the series is popular is that “it is not usual to collaborate so much with the actors on the philosophical part that pervades everything. ” “.

“We immediately wanted to tell the high-stakes consequences for all the characters of that free will (in the multiverses). (…) So it was very much about delving into that world that we had already created, and also the way in which the key players from the audience were captured,” Wright explained.

Together with Tom Hiddleston and Di Martino, the viewer will see them in action again Gugu Mbatha-Raw (Renslayer), Wunmi Mosaku (Hunter B-15), Eugene Cordero and Tara Strong (Miss Minutes), Jonathan Marjors and Owen Wilson (Mobius M. Mobius).

Additionally, Ke Huy Quan (“Everything Everywhere All At Once”), Rafael Casal (“Blindspotting”), Kate Dickie (“The Witch”) and Liz Carr (“The Witcher”) join the cast.

For his part, Eric Martin once again serves as head writer, while Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead serve as directors.

After a year in which Disney, to which the Marvel franchise belongs, recorded several failures with titles such as “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania”, “Secret Invasion” or Indiana Jones: Dial of Destiny”, “Loki 2” has been presented as possible postponement before the end of this course, during which they will also celebrate their centenary.

“More than pressure, we feel liberation because we have completed all the work of writing about multiverses and animations, discussing them with the actors, etc. (…) I think we have brought something new and we are excited, now we’ll have to see how it’s received by the audience,” Wright concluded, attempting to ease the tension of the premiere.
