Shakira, caught: she changed the lyrics to ‘The Bicycle’ to avoid mentioning Piqué

First it was Vives himself. As a friend of Shakira, he did not want to mention Piqué or anything related to the former footballer in the song.

The text originally reads:

But during the concert Vives does not sing the final piece of ‘he likes Barcelona’. Instead, he lengthens the a in Barranquilla and then sings the next part of the song.

But Shakira also changed the lyrics. The original says:

‘Take me with you, take me on your bike

So we can play ball there in Chancleta

What if one day you show Piqué de Tayrona?

After that he doesn’t want to go to Barcelona anymore.”

But instead he sang it like this:

‘Take me with you, take me on your bike

So we can play there in slippers with the ball and the rag

“If you show that guy Tayrona later, he won’t want to go to Barcelona.”
