Transformers Issue 2 begins with a brief look at the events of the previous war on Cybertron between the Autobots and the Decepticons. Optimus declares war on his new human friend Spike Witwicky and tells him how the Transformers arrived on Earth.

Optimus Prime carries the weight of the world
“/> Optimus, who has already lost to Megatron in the past, significantly raises the stakes in the present, and the consequences subsequently leave the Autobot leader reeling. Optimus has already lost two allies when he woke up in the present and feels like his mistakes are only getting worse. The Autobot leader carries the weight of several worlds on his shoulders, an idea that Johnson beautifully expressed in the opening moments of the issue, when Optimus Prime accidentally kills a deer by stepping on it. Optimus is a leader and therefore every step he takes has consequences.
While Megatron has yet to appear in the current story (despite rumors to the contrary), Optimus Prime and the rest of the Autobots are already dealing with Starscream, Soundwave, and Skywarp. The Autobots are on the run and low on energy. They are in the fight of their lives and now feel a responsibility to protect the small, vulnerable creatures of the planet they have landed on. Starscream and the other Decepticons launch an all-out attack on humanity when they attack a local power plant, showing no remorse as they destroy and kill everything in sight. If Megatron returns, the Autobots will have even more problems than they already have.
When will Megatron return to the Energon universe?
