Daddy Yankee Announces He’s Leaving Reggaeton to “Live His Life for Christ”

“My people, this day is the most important day of my life for me. And I want to share it with you because living a successful life is not the same as living a life with purpose,” Daddy Yankee began with a message of almost three minutes, after the show in front of thousands of people in the Colosseum of Puerto Rico, in San Juan.

“For a long time I tried to fill a void in my life that no one could fill. I tried to fill and find meaning in my life. Sometimes I seemed very happy, but something was missing to make me complete. And I must confess that those days are over.“, continued the artist.

Therefore, he assured that “someone was able to fill the emptiness I felt for a long time” and recognized “that I was someone for everyone, but that I was nothing without Him.”

“I spent years traveling the world, winning many awards, applause and praise, but I realized something the Bible says: ‘What good does it do a man if he gains the whole world if he loses his soul?’ why tonight I recognize it and I am not ashamed to tell the whole world “Jesus lives in me and I will live for Him.”he admitted.

“The Bible says that anyone who recognizes him here on earth in public will recognize him in my father’s presence,” added Raymond Ayala, the 46-year-old artist’s first name.

“Whoever knows me now as Daddy Yankee, let him say: “Daddy Yankee in Christ, Raymond Ayala in Puerto Rico.” “A story is over and a new story is about to begin, a new beginning,” he said.

He also assured that “all the tools that I have in my power, like music, social networks, platforms, a microphone, everything that Jesus gave me, are now for the kingdom.”

“Thank you very much Puerto Rico and I hope you will walk with me in this new beginning and I hope something very important for you is recorded: Don’t follow any man. I am a human. To all the people who followed me: follow Jesus Christ, for He is the way, the truth and the life,” he emphasized.
