To talk with IGNWingard teased how many of the following Godzilla vs. Kong: The New Empire will focus on the film’s monsters. The director imagines an eight-minute sequence where the titans could clash, the time they spent together without any human scenes. Check out what Wingard had to say below:
Much of the film consists of fully animated CG images; Much of this is pure imagination. We have a couple of sequences that are about eight minutes long where it’s just the monsters doing their thing, so the film really lets the monsters tell their own story in a visual and non-verbal way.
Why Godzilla vs. Kong should focus more on monsters

The main premise of the upcoming Titan team is that the two take center stage and try to fend off a new threat to the world. Like previous Monsterverse entries, Godzilla vs. KongThe human cast includes familiar faces like Rebecca Hall, Brian Tyree Henry, and Kaylee Hottle, all returning from Godzilla vs. Kong. Anyway, from the premise of the film, it’s clear that the monsters and their battles will be the most important part of the film.
By focusing more on the Titans than the humans, the film manages to better humanize the Titans while clarifying their purpose in the story. Rather than being vehicles for a human-centric story, Godzilla and Kong will drive the story with their own motivations to protect the planet. This can mean lengthy scenes where the couple decides to put their past behind them, but also intense fights. with King Skar and his army.
With new additions to the series like Godzilla’s pink atomic power and Kong’s mechanical gauntlet, it looks like Godzilla vs. Kong: The New EmpireThe Titans will have plenty of exciting surprises in store. This could mean even more monsters and forces to come, adding to the film’s intensity. With the film set to release on April 12, 2024, it won’t be long before more of the monster story is revealed.
