Warning: contains possible spoilers Doctor Strange #10!
Doctor Strange explains the true meaning of his code name and how he can use it to defeat stronger wizards. The Sorcerer Supreme is currently fighting the battle of his life against General Strange, an evil version of himself. Having lost everything that makes Doctor Strange who he is, General Strange is a formidable foe. However, in a sneak peek of the Doctor Strange #10, reveals the hidden truth behind his title and how it will help him defeat the General.
Doctor Strange Issue 10 was written by Jed MacKay and drawn by Pasqual Ferry. Doctor Strange clashes with the General and the Sorcerer Supreme takes control. Doctor Strange reminds the General of the times he (the General) bragged about burning his good qualities like empathy and compassion and leaving a warrior alone. These qualities, which Strange emphasizes as those of a doctor, are qualities that the general has forgotten and that could spell his defeat.
The preview ends with Doctor Strange firmly in control of the general.
In ‘General Strange’, all of Doctor Strange’s greatest fears come true

General Strange ended the book with a hidden chapter in Doctor Strange’s life. The Vishanti, Strange’s benefactors, recruited him for the War of the Seven Spheres, a war that lasted 5,000 years. During this time, Doctor Strange, hardened by constant conflict, becomes General Strange, a ruthless killing machine. After the dust of war settles, Vishanti separates General Strange from the Doctor, creating two different beings. Doctor Strange returned to our plane of existence with little memory of the war, and General Strange was imprisoned and grew embittered over time. The general finally manages to free himself and makes Doctor Strange’s life difficult.
General Strange was everything Doctor Strange wasn’t. Doctor Strange dedicated his life to saving people, both in his life as a doctor and in his time as Sorcerer Supreme. Stephen started out as a surgeon, a field that regularly saves lives. Although this time it was one of vanity and self-interest, Strange was shown to have a caring side. When he became a wizard, Strange truly found himself. The qualities of a physician that he had long denied were finally able to emerge, and they served him well when he became the Sorcerer Supreme. Doctor Strange’s compassion and empathy have made him one of Marvel’s greatest heroes.

The male version of Doctor Strange gives new meaning to the Marvel hero’s name
The Boys’ Doctor Strange continues the series’ reputation for corrupting beloved heroes, as this character brings a whole new meaning to Strange’s name.
Doctor Strange’s “Doctor” makes him powerful

And it is these qualities that allow him to continually defeat more powerful wizards such as General Strange. Doctor Strange has defeated many magicians over the years, including Dormammu. Some of these creatures were ancient before humanity even existed, but Strange rejects them every time. These witches lack the personality traits that make a good doctor, such as empathy and compassion. When Stephen Strange transitioned from doctor to wizard, he retained the title “Doctor,” and that codename explains why he was so successful in defeating Dormammu and other powerful magic users.
Doctor Strange Issue #10 is available from Marvel Comics on December 20th!
