Ellen Wong about how her toughest Scott Pilgrim handles knives Chau: ‘She didn’t need Scott’

Actress Ellen Wong revealed in a recent interview how she learned to embrace her character Knives Chau in a powerful way while working Scott Pilgrim leaves. The new animated series explores the characters fans know from a new perspective and makes some changes from the original comics and the 2010 film. Ellen Wong: It started out that way because I wasn’t sure, but when we started playing the songs, I started singing and doing all these things that were outside of my comfort zone. but also [were] about Knives finding herself and her voice. It was also interesting to take this trip with her and it was a lot of fun. It just flowed.

This was the part that made me the most nervous; I thought, “I know Knives can do this, but how can I do this?” and “Can I do this?” I just let it go and thought, ‘The Knives don’t care.
