An unexpected member of the Teen Titans helps form one of the best vampire hunting teams in DC. The Teen Titan in question is M’gann M’orzz, aka Miss Martian, the niece of Martian Manhunter. Miss Martian is still a relatively new character in the DC universe and has been around for almost twenty years. She has had a significant impact on the DCU, recently becoming a romantic fixture on Superboy.
Even more recently, Miss Martian has established herself as a master vampire hunter alongside Black Canary and Green Arrow. In Batman/Santa Claus: Silent Knight #2 by Jeff Parker, Michele Bandini and Trevor Hairsine. As the holidays are plagued by vampires, several heroes join forces to save Christmas. But a surprising trio leaves the biggest impression.

Miss Martian, Green Arrow and Black Canary show how the heroes of the DC Universe must simply use their powers creatively to defeat vampires, rather than adding new tricks to their arsenal.

Miss Martian, Black Canary and Green Arrow become vampire hunters

Last issue, the first sightings of the Draug, vampire-like creatures of Norse descent, caught the attention of Batman’s former mentor Santa Claus, but Kris Kringle isn’t the only hero in town heading out to fight vampires. In this second issue, many other heroes become involved, including the trio of vampire hunters in question. Miss Martian, Black Canary, and Green Arrow devise a strategy that starts with transforming Miss Martian into one of these vampires and surprising a horde of them long enough to fire a flash grenade that incinerates them.
The remaining vampires pursue Miss Martian as she lures them into a trap. The Draug fall into a trap and attack directly as a hail of Green Arrow’s wooden arrows pierces their hearts. This leaves Black Canary responsible for the rest, which, after warning from Ms. Mars to cover his ears, lets out a piercing scream. Their signature sonic scream is enough to eliminate vampires, as they have super hearing that amplifies their hearing to deafening and deadly proportions.
Miss Martian must lead her own supernatural team

When comic book superheroes fight vampires, they often have to acquire traditional vampire hunting tools like holy water, stakes, and more to complete the task. In other cases, they’re given a special suit or costume that suits their superhero sensibilities in a way that’s still anti-vampire. In the case of this trio, however, they find unique ways to use the powers they already have in their repertoire to fight vampires. Teen Titan The fact that Miss Martian proves herself in such a unique environment is impressive and shows how bright her future as a heroine could be.
