Mariah Carey “deeply saddened” by death of her mother and sister

In her memoir The Meaning of Mariah Carey (2020), she confessed that her relationship with her mother was “complicated” because it was “full of contradictions and competing realities,” but she dedicated the book to her with the promise to always love her “the best I can.”
