Netflix cancels Pearl series created by Meghan Markle

Netflix series pearl It was dropped by the video streaming service developed by Prince Harry’s wife, Meghan Markle. Entertainment site reports Deadline Market.

Last summer it was announced that Meghan and her company Archewell Productions will produce the animated series Pearl for the streaming service. Pearl would be about a twelve-year-old girl who experiences adventures and is inspired by various influential women from history. This idea would have been conceived entirely by Meghan.

“Like many girls her age, our heroine Pearl is discovering herself as she overcomes the challenges of everyday life,” the Duchess said in a statement at the time. It is not known why the series has now been discontinued.

The animated series was part of Meghan and her husband Prince Harry’s multi-year deal with the streaming service in 2020. To that end, they are making even more TV series, documentaries and children’s programs. The Sussexes were going to make a series about Harry’s work at Invictus Games, when he was still in the Netherlands last month.
