Chiara D’Odorico and Javier Acosta Giangreco present Paraguay Counterpoint, a piano and classical guitar concert at 8:30 pm at the Municipal Theater of Asunción Ignacio A. Pane (President Franco and Chile). It will be organized in the summer of 2022 by the Municipal Theater and the Municipality of Asunción as part of its cycle. Entry fee: G. 50,000. Paying tribute to Paraguayan music of all times and styles, the recital will cover a wide repertoire, from popular polkas to guaranias, to academic works for piano and guitar. During this event, both artists will perform part of the repertoire of these clubs dedicated to Paraguayan music: ¡Musiqueada! Offer to My Land by Javier Acosta Giangreco, Purahéi che retãgua and Chiara D’Odorico.

“Ours has been in preparation for several months, it will be an evening with 100% Paraguayan music in different directions such as folklore, classical, contemporary and romantic. The idea is to show the richness of our music that goes beyond the known,” said Acosta Giangreco.
Divided. Chiara D’Odorico was born in Asunción and came to study piano at the age of four with her mother, Miriam de D’Odorico. He continued his education in Argentina with great masters such as Bruno Gelber and Manuel Massone, and in Europe with Pierre Reach, Denis Lossev and others.
He is internationally regarded as one of the best known Paraguayan pianists. Paraguay Tourism Ambassador, Artists for Change Award: Innovative and Creative Women, Paraguay’s Outstanding Young Woman and the National Youth Award presented by the President, has won several awards for her artistic career.
Accompanied by soloists and orchestras, he develops an intense musical activity that occurs regularly in different countries. He has visited more than three countries such as Brazil, Ecuador, United States, Canada, Italy, France, Spain, Austria, England, Russia, South Africa, Lebanon and India. There are two recording materials, Purahéi che retãgua (nominated for Best Classical Music Album at the Gardel Awards 2020) and Ofrenda a mi Tierra.
Javier Acosta Giangreco is a Paraguayan guitarist, composer, conductor and researcher, born in Asunción in 1989. He holds a degree in music composition from Pontificia Universidad Católica Argentina and is a graduate student of musicology from Argentina. Free by the Universidad de la Rioja de Spain, OAS.
He took guitar lessons from teachers like Irma Costanzo in Buenos Aires; Julio Viera in composition; Miguel Ángel Gilardi on conducting and Ana Cigarran on the physical use of the instrument with the Fedora Aberastury technique. He also took advanced courses in Uruguay, Chile and the United States.
Research and dissemination of Paraguayan music publishes books, recordings and scholarly articles on the subject. In 2018, Nicolás Pérez González published his first book: La Revolución Inconclusa, and in 2020 he released his debut album, Musiqueada! It consists entirely of works written for classical guitar, including works by Paraguayan authors themselves.
