Herman Hofman has to leave NPO 3FM. The DJ, who has worked at the station for ten years, said on Monday’s radio program that he was not part of the new line-up and that he was not given a reason.
“It’s been a frustrating few months here at 3FM because of the restructuring,” says Hofman. Said. “I still can’t believe it. Not only am I losing my schedule, but I have to leave 3FM. I wasn’t assigned to the new program.”
DJ says it’s hard for him to accept this. “I feel like I’ve been dumped by a friend I’ve given everything for for ten years. And if you don’t have a reason, it just gets harder.”
It is unclear exactly when Hofman will have to resign, but Hofman suspects after the summer. “I’m going to get everything from the past few months that I’m still working on,” he promised his audience. “I will absorb every second of the radio left.” DJ has already decided to share the news himself: “I can’t pretend. It wouldn’t work if I had to deal with it all the time.”
A spokesperson for 3FM said in a short response that the station is “in talks with broadcasters about next year’s selection. We thank Herman for everything he has done for 3FM in recent years and wish him every success in his future.” The statement did not state a specific reason for the divorce. 3FM has been struggling with disappointing viewing figures for several years now.
Third program to be stopped
Hofmans program is the third program that has been announced to end soon. The afternoon show by Frank van der Lende and Eva Koreman will also be cancelled. The last show can be heard on June 23. Van der Lende and Koreman were also “very upset”, “angry and frustrated” by the decision.
