Bill Cosby was convicted by a jury in 1975 of molesting young people.

A California jury found Tuesday that former actor Bill Cosby sexually assaulted a girl in 1975. It reportedly happened when she was 16 when she accompanied him to the Playboy Mansion in Los Angeles. The jury awarded victim Judy Huth $500,000 in damages.

Huth told the court that he had taken Cosby’s hand and used it for pleasure. The former actor, now 84 years old, was 37 at the time.

Cosby was not in court but denied the charges in a video. The former actor said he doesn’t remember Huth. He also claimed that the incident could not have happened because he would not have sexual intercourse with anyone under the age of eighteen.

In March 2022, it was announced that the criminal case against Cosby would not be reopened. The US Supreme Court rejected the plaintiffs’ request in this regard. As a result, the former actor and comedian is still a fugitive.

In 2018, Cosby was sentenced to three to 10 years in prison for drugging and abusing Andrea Constand. However, the Pennsylvania Supreme Court ruled that the trial was unfair.

Dozens of other women have accused Cosby of sexual harassment. But the case of Constand was the only thing that was not prescribed. However, the statute of limitations played no part in Huth’s civil lawsuit against Cosby.
