The Duke and Duchess of Sussex had planned a charity event in London in the evening, but sudden news of the Queen’s deteriorating health prompted the Sussexes to fly to Scotland to join the rest of the family.

The queen’s health condition would be alarming. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex returned to Britain for the first time since the Platinum Jubilee last June. Despite having an event planned in the city, Harry and Meghan they had not foreseen any meeting with the royal family, thus marking the ever-deepening rift with the prince’s family. The sudden news of Queen Elisabeth’s worsening conduct, however, derailed his plans.
