The League secretary left Montecitorio without making a statement, but the statement written jointly with the leader of the Brothers of Italy, the big winner of the election round, sends a clear signal.
“First after the victory of the center-right in the political elections, it took place in a climate of great collaboration and unity of purpose”, reads the joint note from the FDI and the Lega. Both leaders, continues the statement, “expressed satisfaction with the confidence given by the Italians to the coalition and reiterated the great sense of responsibility that this result implies”. Meloni and Salvini “assessed the situation and the priorities and urgencies on the agenda of the government and parliament, also in light of the complex situation that Italy is experiencing”.
