Regional elections in Lazio are approaching and the race is on. The health adviser of the Lazio region, Alessio D’Amato, is in fact “the candidate of the Democratic Party with a preference also expressed by Calenda”. The announcement was made by the secretary of Pd Lazio Bruno Astorre, on the sidelines of a meeting organized at Teatro Brancaccio, in Rome, by councilor D’Amato himself. “Regional management will meet on Tuesday. The coalition will decide whether to hold the primaries, probably next week. D’Amato is available to make them – explained Astorre -. We work so that there are also the Greens and the Italian Left”.
In recent days Carlo Calenda had already chosen D’Amato as the name of the Third Pole of Lazio, along with the preference for Letizia Moratti in Lombardy. And just this morning, the Ação leader returned to the question: “We have always had the idea that D’Amato, despite not being from the Third Pole, is a good councilor who can effectively be president. We’re waiting for the Democratic Party to tell us if D’Amato is good for them too. If the Democratic Party opted for the primaries, would the Third Pole participate? We don’t participate in the left-wing primaries because we’re not left-wing, we’re a reformist center. If they want to do the primary we will wait for them and let us know”. And now the Democratic Party’s green light has come to D’Amato’s name.
