Migrants, the League wants to see clearly: questioning the Frontex report that preaches NGOs

“The European Union must clarify Frontex’s confidential document on immigration in the Mediterranean.” The League presents a question to the European Commission following the news of the report by the agency that monitors European borders, in which it is stated that the presence of NGO ships “continues to be another pull factor (pull factor, ed.) for migrants leaving Libya to arrive in Italy ». The question is signed by MEPs Antonio Maria Rinaldi (first signatory), Annalisa Tardino, Marco Campomenosi, Marco Zanni and Alessandro Panza. MEPs recall that the document highlights how migrants find out about the presence of NGO ships near the Libyan coast before leaving. “We pose the question to clarify all this: is the EU aware of this document? Don’t you think it’s necessary to make it public? 🇧🇷 Furthermore, “if these revelations are confirmed, would they not be considered a priority in the context of the current reform of the European Pact on Immigration and Asylum?”.
