The left’s traditional double standards strike again. On the one hand, statements, rivers of ink and thunderous interviews to ask moderates to respect institutions, low tones, a position by Italy that is worthy of our history within the European chessboard. On the other hand, gestures that demonstrate the true nature of certain movements. Serene and calm if the boss doesn’t bother the driver, potentially dangerous if you remind him that squatting or using drugs is a crime, just to name two small examples. During a collective demonstration, held in Bologna, a mannequin representing Giorgia Meloni appeared hanging upside down.
“What happened is really very serious. We hope that the perpetrators of this shameful act of intimidation will be identified and, above all, we expect a clear and unequivocal condemnation from all political forces, especially the left. Solidarity and closeness with Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni”, underlines the Minister of Agriculture, Francesco Lollobrigida.
The image was posted on the Cybylla Laboratory Facebook page along with a lengthy post explaining the shameful gesture: “A few days after an anti-rave decree we found ourselves again invading the streets of Bologna. This abuse of dissent disguised as a decree is in reality yet another security law enacted by a fascist government that wants us to be obedient, silent and, in fact, oppressed. Between evictions, university charges and attacks on social policies, this government aims to flatten our lives, our freedoms and our desires”. These are groups used to living with friendly municipal and regional administrations, who, on the one hand, call for the need to respect the rules, on the other hand, they take care not to organize evictions in busy social centers or in raves where drugs circulate freely, without any restrictions. Gestures and phrases that are not only embarrassing, but potentially dangerous. It should not be underestimated in a country that, for more than forty years, was forced to deal with the madness of the armed struggle of the Red Brigades.
