Di Maio to the post for the EU after Draghi’s approval. Gasparri rises: a mockery for Italy

Former Foreign Minister Luigi Di Maio is running for the post of European Union envoy to the Persian Gulf. The European Commission neither confirms nor denies the news from the Republic, but anonymous sources accompanying the dossier speak of a realistic hypothesis that the former leader of Civic Engagement represents the EU in a crucial area from an energy point of view, that of the Poleiro Gulf. Di Maio’s candidacy would have Mario Draghi’s approval.

Maurizio Gasparri, senator from Forza Italia, asks for measures on Di Maio: “With a question to the top of the government, I ask that our executive take measures in the EU to prevent international missions from being conferred on Di Maio, who has demonstrated in recent years an Its use in any context – warns the Italian exponent – would create more problems than solutions. Its appointment, even more so after an unsuccessful election result, would be a mockery of Italy”.
