Giorgia Meloni was not only the only G20 Prime Minister, but also the only leader to bring her daughter with her to Bali. A gesture that triggered a shameful attack on the Prime Minister who responded on social media by closing the controversy and dismissing the accusations made against her, reiterating her right to be a mother as she pleases.
“On returning home after two days of relentless work to better represent Italy at the G20 in Bali, I am faced with an incredible debate about whether or not it was right to take my daughter with me while I was away for four days. The question I have to ask the hosts of this exciting discussion: so you think how my daughter should raise is a matter for you?” Meloni asks teasingly. “Because I break the news: it is not. I have the right to be a mother as I wish and I have the right to do everything I can for this nation without depriving Geneva of a mother. I hope this answer will be enough to occupy you with more relevant matters and vaguely within its competence”, concludes the prime minister.
