Letizia Moratti distances herself from Renzi and Calenda. Myrta Merlino defines Letizia Moratti as a candidate for the Third Pole and does not agree. He makes a point of punctuating the IEA and reaffirming its role within a civic list. All during the episode of L’Aria that airs December 1st on La7. “I am not a candidate for Calenda and Renzi’s Third Pole – Moratti starts in connection with the La7 studio – I am a candidate with my own civic list which is only supported by Calenda and Renzi’s Third Pole. I chose to run with my civic list because at the moment it is a review is underway in the various alignments that are rigid and narrow and no longer able to respond to the needs of citizens. All this is witnessed by the fact that 37% of citizens did not vote in the last election. Mine is a civic response that goes from the third sector to the business world. The objective of my political action is to strengthen public health, give Lombardy more security and a more efficient transport plan. I want to give Lombardy the autonomy that is absolutely necessary”.
Moratti also answers questions about the recent encounter at Palazzo Chigi between Calenda and Meloni. “At such a critical moment – Moratti continued – I consider an institutional meeting between the government and the opposition very positive. It is an important and significant gesture by the Meloni government, which must represent the interests of the country, but also of part of Carlo’s calendar”.
