“If you take away basic income, I’ll kill you and your daughter.” It is just one of the shameful threats that have emerged on social media against the Prime Minister, Giorgia Meloni, and her family. The Fratelli d’Italia Twitter account emerges and brings them together in a collage expressing solidarity and a message of encouragement to Meloni: “Come on president, we are on your side.”
Even the main exponents of the party, and of the government, succeed each other in demonstrating solidarity, but also in pointing out a climate of hatred aroused by the representation of the government’s line and of the majority against basic income, a representation that the FdI exponents attribute in unequivocal terms to M5s and Giuseppe Conte. FdI deputy Marco Cerreto speaks of “infinite shame, we are at the limit”, he says, asking for a condemning intervention by Giuseppe Conte. Giovanni Donzelli accuses: “Fostering social anger to collect a few votes is dangerous. I hope that Giuseppe Conte thinks a little and condemns these violent people without hesitation”.
