Government, Giancarlo Giorgetti trembles on pensions: “Without the birth rate, the system collapses”

“The real pension reform is to stimulate the birth rate. Without a birth rate to support the system over the long term, it’s all over.” This is the warning given by Giancarlo Giorgetti, Minister of the Economy, during the initiative for the 10th anniversary of the Brothers in Italy. The Meloni government representative also spoke of the maneuver launched in recent days, with some clarifications: “Of the 20 countries examined by the EU Commission, 10 countries were judged partially in line, therefore promoted with reservations, and 10 countries including Italy judged in line then promoted. These are the facts and then there are those who support against. Then reservations were made about interventions at the POS, at the cashier and a rather complicated formula in pensions, but they are details ”.

During his speech in Piazza del Popolo, Giorgetti also focused on the cost of energy: “The solution to the price of gas starts from an awareness, an awareness that Europe should have because a classic market mechanism at a great moment like this one doesn’t work. In fact, when there’s a war, you can’t think that the supply and demand market makes a fair price. No, that’s a price drugged by exceptional situations and speculation. And, therefore, the various countries of the EU, instead of competing with each other and raising the price, should agree, as the producing countries do with OPEC, a common policy to reduce the price. that can go alone, then – says the exponent of the League – not only the energy market but also the founding beam of the EU, the single market”.
