Lazio region split left over candidates: “Conte is incomprehensible”

While the center-right converges on the name of Francesco Rocca, former number one of the Italian Red Cross, there is a complete split on the left in the profile of candidates for the elections on February 12 in Lazio. “There will be a red-green list in the next regional elections, within the centre-left. For us, the position of Giuseppe Conte is absolutely incomprehensible on a political level”, said the co-spokesperson of Europa Verde, Angelo Bonelli, in a meeting with reporters in Piazza Montecitorio. Bonelli, who in Lazio is separating from the Italian left of Nicola Fratoianni with whom he formed an alliance to enter Parliament, cannot understand the attitude and political movements of the former prime minister and leader of the 5 Star Movement: “Today they govern together with the Democratic Party and together with Carlo Calenda, but nobody points it out, with two valuable councilors, Corrado and Lombardi. I don’t understand why the Lazio region should be handed over to the right.”
