The mayor of Bergamo: “We have nothing to do with these scandals. The party brings its pride”
The Democratic Party sinks in the polls and hits an all-time low below 15%. In addition to the electoral defeat and the long duration of the congress, which will in fact leave the Democrats aimless until the end of February, the scandals that hit the world of the left also weigh, starting with Qatargate.
But the mayor of Bergamo Giorgio Gori does not agree and vents on Twitter: «Let me understand: Soumahoro is from the company Bonelli & Fratoianni; Panzeri is from Art.1. How does it all end up on the Democratic Party account? Now please everyone take the blows that touch you. And the Democratic Party brings a little pride and self-respect, what the heck ».
It is not the first time that Gori has intervened in the ongoing scandal debate. “So the disgust with Brussels is to blame for the mutation of communists into reformists, for the weakening of the critique of capitalism, for the Blairian third way. The money was in the house of an exponent of Art.1, not exactly a neoliberal, but with dirty hands it’s always the others”, he had attacked on Twitter a few days ago.
