Violent supporters, Minister Piantedosi to mayors: assess transfers at risk

Maximum severity in sanctioning violent and inappropriate behavior and in prevention, up to the possibility of banning travel. This is what the Minister of the Interior, Matteo Piantedosi, recommended to the “responsible bodies”, as Adnkronos found out from sources present at the meeting at the Ministry of the Interior with the Minister of Sports, Andrea Abodi, number one of the FIGC Gabriele Gravina and the president of the League Serie A, Lorenzo Casini. The mayors decreed a ban on travel to football matches considered risky by the observatory. Decisions will be taken based on risk assessments by the National Observatory of Sports Events, an inter-institutional body of the Social Security Secretariat, and the Commission for Analysis of Sports Assessments. After the clashes that took place in the A1 last Sunday, among other things, the match scheduled for Friday night between Napoli and Juventus is being considered.

During the meeting, which took place in a very constructive environment, it was decided to intensify coordination, initiating periodic discussions between the Ministry of the Interior, the Ministry of Sports, the FIGC and Lega Calcio. Attention was also given to the importance of technological tools, such as television cameras, in identifying those responsible for violent conduct. As part of the discussion, the balance of the last 4 years was analyzed, from which it was verified that the serious events had drastically reduced, mainly in the stadiums.
