“Lies are bad for health”. The FdI’s Response to the Irish Squeeze on Italian Wine

The reaction to Ireland’s absurd decision to put a label with the words “injurious to health” on wine comes from Fratelli d’Italia. «The Department of Agriculture of Fratelli d’Italia has launched the campaign ‘Lies seriously damage your health’ because, despite the vote against the European Parliament, the EU Commission has authorized Ireland to impose labels on bottles of wine and beer informing the danger to health. Objectively false information, since it is the excesses that are problematic and not the moderate and beneficial consumption”.

“The real damage – they continue – is caused, with this initiative, to the wine producing nations, among which Italy, which is the undisputed leader in the sector. Also in this case, the objective is not to inform but to try to condition people by generating the idea that wine brings the same results for health as distillates with a very high alcohol content or even that it is better to use hyper-processed drinks produced by some multinationals. For Fratelli d’Italia, defending the quality of the products is a duty, just a lie seriously harms physical, mental and economic health”.
