Food Transparency, Mattarella signs the decree: what it foresees

The President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella, signed the fuel decree, which will be published in the Official Gazette of today, Saturday, January 14th. The “armed” truce signed with the government that yesterday, after a long meeting with the Palazzo Chigi gas stations, disarmed the strike on January 25th and 26th, will depend exactly on the wording of Meloni’s executive order.

Thus, the strike by the directors of the petrol pumps is currently suspended, pending the publication of the transparency decree by the government, while work is being done on the eventual sterilization of the VAT. And already on the 17th a new table is scheduled.

A mild setback from the managers who arrived after the table in Palazzo Chigi with Undersecretary Alfredo Mantovano, Minister of Economy Giancarlo Giorgetti and Minister of Enterprise and Made in Italy Adolfo Urso, Guarantor of price surveillance Benedetto Mineo (better known as Mr. . Prices).

With the new decree, the average fuel price, regionally, will be published on the website of the Ministry of Enterprise and Made in Italy. And the new regulation reads, “the frequency, modalities and times of communications” will be defined by decree of Mimit itself “to be adopted within 15 days from the date of entry into force of this decree”.

Gas stations will then have another 15 days to adapt the signage at each point of sale, including on the highway. But it doesn’t end there. Fuel plant operators risk very heavy fines. Anyone who does not present the average prices calculated by the Ministry of Companies at their point of sale can be punished with fines ranging from 500 to 6,000 euros.
