“We have to reduce working hours to get equal pay.” The proposal to work less for equal money comes from Elly Schlein, candidate for secretary of the Democratic Party. It is not a new proposal on the political scene. In the past, M5S leader Giuseppe Conte has also advanced it, as has Italian Left Secretary Nicola Fratoianni.
Schlein also intervenes in the Jobs Act, the labor reform introduced by Renzi when he was prime minister. For the candidate in the primaries of the dem, symbol of the most left wing of the Democratic Party, “the Jobs law was a mistake and a minimum wage and a representation law must be made to end pirated contracts”. The former face of the ‘Occupy Pd’ points to all the “great works” of Matteo Renzi: “On the Labor Law, Unblock Italy and constitutional reform, someone left the party – he recalls – They were knocked down from above and now we have to start from the humility of recognizing that these contradictions existed and one cannot be everything and the opposite of everything”.
