Lazio regionals, PD nominations in view of vote: Loyalists placed in Asp Tuscia

The vote is upon us, but in the Lazio region it’s time for last-minute compromises. The administration registered in the Pd does not miss the opportunity. The interim president, Daniele Leodori, who replaced Nicola Zingaretti when he was elected to the Chamber, appoints two new members of the board of directors of a publicly traded company. This is Asp Tuscia di Bagnoregio, in the province of Viterbo, which deals with personal services. The lucky ones to be nominated are two figures closely linked to the current center-left junta: Angelo Cappelli, former mayor of Capranica and iron gypsy, and Alessandro Ferretti, head of institutional relations at the company Lazio Crea.

It should be noted that these two nominations are entirely within the competence of the President of the Region. Asp Tuscia is an institution born from the merger of five Ipab and nursing homes operating in the Viterbo area. Two members of the council actually belong to the governor, even if in this case he is only pro tempore. On January 4, the head of the Region’s cabinet, Andrea Napoletano, wrote to the competent authorities (diocese of Viterbo and mayors of Bagnoregio, Montefiascone, Capranica, Civita Castellana and Bassano Romano) to inform that “it is the intention of the President of the Lazio Region to designate which members of the Board of Directors of said company (the Asp Tuscia, ed.), representing the original participants, Messrs. Angelo Cappelli and Alessandro Ferretti, given their activity and professional experience, which can be seen from the attached curricula vitae».

So let’s look at these resumes. Cappelli is the current director of the Monti Cimini-Lago di Vico Nature Reserve, appointed to this position by Zingaretti in December 2019. Until then, he held the position of chief of staff to the president of the Province of Viterbo. From July 2013 to March 2018 he was a member of the secretariat of the regional councilor for the environment during Zingaretti’s first junta. In the same period he was mayor of Capranica (2012-2017), before that councilor (2007-2012), provincial councilor of Viterbo in a left-wing council (2005-2010) and deputy mayor of Capranica (2002-2007). . The other profile, that of Ferretti, is also linked to the PSD world, despite not having held elected office. Before taking care of institutional relations at Lazio Crea, he worked from 2008 to 2015 at Lait, a regional company specializing in technological innovation, which later merged with Lazio Crea in 2016. Previously, during the municipality of Marrazzo (2005-2007), he headed the Communication from the Department of Institutional Affairs.

Chiara Colosimo is not at all surprised that as a regional councilor she discovered dem Concorsopoli in Lazio. For the deputy of the Brothers of Italy “it is the same modus operandi that has been taking place throughout the legislature”. “What infuriates me – adds Colosimo – is that these appointments take place in the middle of the electoral campaign, a fortnight after the vote with a now decapitated junta. Above all, Cappelli’s appointment is purely political, a name tied hand and foot to this junta. It is the destruction of public affairs.”
