The challenge between Italy and France on foreign policy issues continues after Paris invited Volodymyr Zelensky to a tripartite summit from which the center-right government was excluded. Emmanuel Macron and Giorgia Meloni are certainly not experiencing the best moment of their institutional relationship and Matteo Salvini also reinforces: “I heard Giorgia yesterday. If we can take home an immigration alarm clock, great. I must say that a certain arrogance on Macron’s part is incomprehensible.”
The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, on the sidelines of the inspection of the construction sites of the Olympic Village at the old Porta Romana airport, in Milan, increased the dose, showing how much the Italian government was burned by the lack of invitation for conversations about the war between Ukraine and Russia: “When there is war, when raw materials are expensive and the Chinese are sending spy balloons around the world, does Macron think he can do it alone? I don’t think it goes far and I don’t think it’s a show of Europeanism, solidarity and political acumen.”
