As PD primary circle votes continue, Stefano Bonaccini remains ahead of Elly Schlein. In short, the two will challenge the final vote on the bandstands, where, however, voting is open and anything can happen. Incidentally, there are those who bet that the advantage of the governor of Emilia-Romagna is doomed to collapse in the big cities with the deputy of the Region dreaming of the coup. Also for this reason the internal fibrillations continue between the two sides.
Going back to the last data update made by the National Commission of the Democratic Party Congress, on February 11, 52.54% of the preferences went to Bonaccini (23,867 votes). Elly Schlein, has 34.99% (15,898 votes), followed by Gianni Cuperlo (7.83% with 3,556 votes) and Paola De Micheli (4.64% with 2,109 votes). The polls close tomorrow, with the exception of Lazio and Lombardy, where regional elections will be voted on until February 19. Final duel in the February 26 primaries, which will also be open to non-members.
Meanwhile, Bonaccini and Goffredo Bettini make out at a distance. “I would never allow myself to say ‘the best are with me’, as Bettini declared referring to the supporters of Elly Schlein, also forgetting that they were also the protagonists of the recent defeat of the Democratic Party”, said the president of Emilia Romagna region. “I would never say that because we are a family and a community that should respect each other more.” Bettini replied: “In the congressional debate, I was very respectful towards all the candidates. I regret that Bonaccini is arguing with a title that I certainly did not decide. My sentence in the interview with Il Fatto is the following: ‘Orlando, Zingaretti and Franceschini are part of the best history of the Democratic Party. And this in response to the offensive polemic against them pointed out as a negative impediment to Schlein’s candidacy. I don’t join the troublemakers”.
