Regional, peak turnout. Meloni’s Appeal: It Matters, Go and Vote

Low participation of citizens of Lazio and Lombardy in today’s and tomorrow’s regional elections. Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni addressed on social networks “a good vote wish to the citizens of Lazio and Lombardy who go to the polls. Today it will be possible to vote until 23:00, tomorrow from 7:00 to 15:00. Remember: with just 5 minutes of his time he will be able to choose the next 5 years of his Region”, wrote the Prime Minister, remembering: “The vote always makes the difference”.

Meloni voted in Lazio’s regional elections at the polling station installed at the Bachelet Institute, part of the Integral G. Pallavicini Institute, in the Torrino district. “It’s an important election, so I hope the turnout is adequate for a choice like the one to be made for regions that are so strategic for the nation. That’s why they’re going to vote,” he said upon arriving at the Bachelet Institute polling station.

The turnout in 12 in Lazio is 7.6 percent, that of the ballots in the Lombardy region is 9.23 (8.9 is the average value). Remember that you can vote today, Sunday, February 12, until 11 pm, and tomorrow, Monday, February 13, from 7 am to 3 pm. The value at 12:00 represents a sharp drop in relation to the previous regionals that had been 19.76%, as recalled by the Ministry of the Interior. In Lombardy in 2018, at the same time, 20.73% voted, in Lazio 16.24%. In 2018, however, voting was carried out on a single day, while this year polling stations will also be open on a Monday.
