The great leap from medicine to politics did not work out. Fabrizio Pregliasco, medical director of the IRCCS Galeazzi Hospital, had stood as a candidate in the Lombardy regional elections with the Civic Pact in support of Pierfrancesco Majorino, the name chosen by the Pd and Movement 5 Stelle in a vain attempt to try to worry the outgoing governor Attilio Fontana, reconfirmed at his post at the polls. However, for the virologist and Covid specialist, the vote count was bitter: as YouTrend reports, Pregliasco was not elected, having been fifth in Milan on its list with 2,005 total preferences.
Looking at other distinguished names who competed in Lombardy, with 873 preferences in the province of Milan, Vittorio Sgarbi is the only one elected in the region for the Noi Moderati – Renaissance Sgarbi list. Same fate as Pregliasco for the two former cyclists Sonny Colbrelli and Claudio Chiappucci, who were not elected. The first, candidate for Forza Italia in Brescia, obtained 1,387 preferences (fifth). The second, candidate from Monza and Brianza on Moratti’s list, collected 121. The mayor of Brescia, Emilio Del Bono, did well, as he was the candidate for councilor with the most votes in these elections. Now, a crossroads opens up for the municipal administrator: if he opts for the regional council, he will have to finish his second term as mayor a few months earlier.
