The fact does not exist. In the Ruby ter case, Silvio Berlusconi was acquitted of corruption charges in court documents, with full formula. The other 28 defendants in the Milanese trial were also acquitted (some acquitted by statute of limitations for minor charges). Among them Karima el Mahroug (known as Ruby Tubacuori) and the 20 former guests of the Arcore nights. For the former prime minister, this is the third acquittal, considering the two previously received by the veins of Siena and Rome. “The acquittal of Silvio Berlusconi is excellent news that puts an end to a long judicial process that also had important repercussions on Italian political and institutional life. On behalf of myself and the Government, I affectionately greet President Berlusconi”, said the Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister Matteo Salvini said he was “happy with Silvio’s acquittal after years of suffering, insults and pointless polemics”.
It is the exit from the judicial tunnel for the Ruby case, and the sentence makes Forza Italia happy: “Berlusconi’s acquittal is wonderful news that does him justice. I had no doubts about his innocence. The Forza Italia community celebrates its leader”, wrote Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani on Twitter. “Acquitted because the fact does not exist – underlines the president of the senators of Forza Italia, Licia Ronzulli. After 11 years of trial, hundreds of hearings, millions of euros spent on citizens, President Berlusconi leaves with his head held high from yet another pillory of the media, judiciary and politicians, launched themselves against him. This process did not even have to start, as the court in Milan rightly decided. making and unmaking governments, destroying reputations, careers, even people’s lives, a radical and structural reform of justice is becoming more and more necessary and urgent. Who will pay President Berlusconi for all this? Who will compensate him not only in economic terms, but also for the serious damage inflicted on his reputation? Who will compensate the Italian State for the damage to its image in the final international forum, after the mud thrown at a Prime Minister who represented our country in Europe and in the world?”.
“Finally, the ordeal is over!”, said forced deputy Paolo Emilio Russo in the Chamber of Deputies, upon hearing the news, while the NGO’s declarations of vote were taking place, with all Azzurri deputies standing to applaud. “An acquittal that fills with satisfaction. Our thoughts go to the one who has always worked to demonstrate what today is, once again, recognized by the judges: Niccolò Ghedini. The non-existence of the accusations against President Berlusconi gives credence to the truth and to what, extraordinary and caring professionalism, contributed to affirm it” comments Deputy Minister of Justice Francesco Paolo Sisto.
Giorgio Mulè, deputy of Fi and vice-president of the Chamber, affirms that “Berlusconi is duly registered among the martyrs of justice”. “Now is the time to pick up the thread of history and launch that parliamentary commission of inquiry that will shed light on the political use that has been made of justice in Italy”, declares the force activist.
