PD, Schlein Resets the Management Team: Which Heads Jump, the New Names

Never change a winning team. And Elly Schlein to rebuild the Democratic Party intends to start with those who were close to her in this long march that took her to the Nazarene. Alessandro Zan, the deputy father of the bill against homotransphobia, and Schlein’s social media promoter in this campaign, could have proxy rights in the secretariat, perhaps extended to other related matters. Stefania Bonaldi, mayor of Crema, will likely be in charge of the Territories. Marco Furfaro, deputy and coordinator of the motion, could end up as assistant secretary, while Marco Sarracino, responsible for organizing the motion, could arrive at the secretariat with the same delegation.

Democratic Party capitular parliamentary groups: Debora Serracchiani and Simona Malpezzi, leaders of groups in the House and Senate respectively, had their mandates extended after the general elections, “until the election of the new secretariat”, Letta had announced. The most trusted name to succeed Malpezzi at Palazzo Madama is Francesco Boccia, former head of political relations for the Schlein movement. But the name of Cecília D’Elia, spokeswoman for the women’s conference, is also mentioned. In the Chamber, in pole position, are the names of two MPs very close to Schlein: Chiara Braga and Chiara Gribaudo. But there are also rumors of Michela Di Biase. The idea, according to Adnkronos, is to work “on the complete package” and most likely nothing will be done in a week. Also because in the meantime the knot of relations with the minority must be resolved, the Bonaccini zone was defeated at the PD congress. And, it is explained, to define the complete package “it depends a lot on what kind of agreement is made with the minority and whether there will be a unitary secretariat or not”.
