After Elly Schlein’s victory in the Democratic Party primary, the first excellent send-off was that of Beppe Fioroni. One of the founders of the Democratic Party was interviewed in Un Giorno da Pecora, on Rai Radio1, and made harsh criticism of the new leader: “For 20 years they gave me their bags and couldn’t wait for me to leave, now they’ve managed Did I leave? No, let’s say they put me on eviction, Schlein glad I left. Schlein spawned a ‘left-left’ maximalist party, a legitimate choice for God’s sake. A left-wing party is useful for democratic societies, but it has nothing to do with my story”.
