Before the National Electoral Council, 25 of the 31 political parties in Colombia have expressed their intention to participate in or hold consultations with a view to the elections in October.
According to the electoral court, the communities of all sectors and tendencies have expressed their interest in holding these elections, which would serve as primaries. It is important to note that June 4, 2023 was set for public consultation, internally or between parties.
Similarly, it was determined that May 4 will serve as the deadline for parties wishing to withdraw their participation to do so without any kind of legal repercussions.
“In the event that consultations are requested for the selection of candidates for popularly elected positions, the pre-candidates may be held from April ten (10) through May four (4) two thousand and twenty-three (2023),” the CNE document reads. .

They explained that in the case of significant groups of citizens, their participation in the plebiscites depends on the verification and approval of the signatures provided on the date of registration of the pre-candidates.
The parties that would participate are: Colombia Humana Movement, Colombian Conservative Party, National Salvation Movement, Alternative Democratic Pole, Patriotic Union Party – UP, New Liberalism Party, Colombian Liberal Party, GSC Amo El Retiro, Democratic Center Party, Indigenous and Social Alternative Movement – MAIS, Green Alliance Party, Radical Change Party, Comunes Party, GSC for Firm Antioquia, League of Rulers Party, Green Alliance Party, Radical Change Party, Comunes Party, GSC for Firm Antioquia, League of Rulers Party, Green Alliance Party, Party Radical Change, Comunes Party, GSC Por Antioquia Firme, League of Rulers Party.
