In the Friuli Venezia Giulia regional elections, outgoing president and centre-right candidate Massimiliano Fedriga was reconfirmed. The exponent of the League has doubled the rival of the center-left Massimo Moretuzzo, still around 30%, while Giorgia Tripoli (‘Insieme Liberi’) is just below 5%. Bad for the candidate for the third pole, Alessandro Maran, who runs the risk of not reaching 3%. Fedriga’s clear victory led Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni to publish a congratulatory post on her Facebook profile: “Congratulations to Massimiliano Fedriga, reconfirmed president of the Friuli Venezia Giulia region. He has worked very well in recent years, along with the entire coalition, and I am sure he will continue to do so. A victory that rewards the administrative model and good governance of the center-right and that encourages us to do even better”.
Fedriga himself was also delighted: “I thank the voters of Friuli Venezia Giulia for confirming me at the head of the Region. An important manifestation of trust that represents a great responsibility, not least because I am the first governor of this region to be re-elected by the citizens. Knowing that the work done in these five years, marked by Covid and beyond, has been so appreciated by people represents pride and an incentive for us to continue working even harder to achieve the objectives of our program”.
