Liberal Party supervision asked to open investigation against Dolcey Torres

Through a memorandum, the Liberal Party’s National Oversight Office has requested the National Council for Ethics Review to convene an urgent extraordinary session to open a disciplinary investigation against Representatives Dolcey Torres and María Eugenia Lopera, for allegedly failing to follow the guidelines of this group.

According to the document: “Representative Torres Romero has decided in public statements, through all media outlets, to reject the guidelines of the Liberal Party regarding the direction of the vote of the National Director of Liberalism and, openly in violation of the banking law , indicated that he did not accept the position of the Liberal Party and would vote for the health reform, a position he took after hearing in several parliamentary benches the position of the National Director of Liberalism”.

For its part, with regard to the representative María Eugenia Lopera, who is a member of the Seventh Chamber Committee, it is stated that “she voted positively for the government’s health care reform project, in violation of the banking law and the guidelines of the National Director of the Colombian Liberal Party.
