Labor Decree, CDM May 1: Slap on the left. And Schlein threatens

The Democratic Party is ready to fight the center-right as of the administrative elections of May 14 and 15, allying itself, whenever possible, with the other opposition forces and focusing on the issues that are most important to it, above all work, health, school. To reiterate this, during a trip to Piedmont in support of the candidates for mayor, there is the party secretary, Elly Schlein, who, close to May 1, leaves work straight away to underline what, in her view, are the shortcomings of the government led by Giorgia Meloni.

“We are extremely concerned about the provocation of taking a decree to the Council of Ministers on May 1st that bears the name of work but which encourages precarious work that this country no longer needs. of the future, because with contracts that last a few months without knowing if they will be renewed, and with very low salaries, it is difficult to build a future and it is difficult to build a family for those who want to do it”, he explains. “The message is that there is a new Democratic Party that wants to bet on decent work, not precarious and not poor, on health, education and respect for the climate, respect for the balance that has been broken and recovers with the planet We have” And now, Schlein seems to say, is now, above all because in the Democratic Party “the climate has changed, we are in a positive phase, there is new hope. It is a great responsibility and we carry it out with conscience”.

Also ready for alliances in an anti-rightist tone: “We always try to build alliances in the most unitary spirit possible, which are not made at the table, but are built in a project for our communities. Sometimes it is also possible to involve other opposition forces in Parliament, sometimes it is not possible, but the important thing is to bear in mind that the common opponent at the moment is the right wing that governs this country and that in recent days has once again demonstrated its inadequacy, failing to take an important document like the Def immediately to the vote and approval, leaving public health deprived of the fundamental resources, which serve to guarantee that services to the citizens of the regions do not continue to be cut, and then naturally also on the issue of Labour”. A challenge to a majority “that cannot even secure its large numbers in Parliament. We are here to give the feeling that there is an alternative.” Also because “certainly a good result and a victory in the administrative rounds of this round will also be a good omen in the face of the challenge of the next regionals. The hope is to be able to win and bring about a change that our communities certainly feel the need for”.

Finally, Schlein highlights one of the central themes of this political phase: “The government’s defeatist attitude towards the Pnrr continues to be a matter of great concern for us. We cannot miss this unique opportunity for the country”. The challenge is launched and starts from the territories and from an administrative vote that may already give a first indication of the impact of the Schlein secretariat on the hopes and future of the Democratic Party.
