The registration period for the interparty consultations ends this Thursday

Tomorrow, Thursday, May 4, the deadline will expire so that the pre-candidates for popular, internal or party consultations of the parties, political movements and key groups of citizens planning to participate in the 2023 regional elections, the registration processes, for the selection of their candidates for elected office.

According to the National Registry of Civil Registry, the calendar revolving around this election process specifies that registration must take place at the Directorate of Electoral Administration and the auditorium of the Registry’s central headquarters in Bogotá.

He also explained that each faction must complete and provide the required documents with the intent of their application, if any, and then the Election Management Department will verify compliance with the legal and formal requirements for the registration of pre-candidates.

For example, the dates for the consultation activities remain as follows: May 4, the deadline for the pre-candidates to register with the National Registry of Civil Registry. In addition, this date also expires the period for political parties and movements and/or important groups of citizens to manifest themselves if they withdraw their initial wish to participate in the consultations.

May 5 is the deadline for the party, political movement or key group of citizens to whom the submitted questions that were not approved have been returned to correct them within a maximum of five (5) calendar days. If you do not do this within this period, the consultation will be withdrawn.

The selection of delegates for the National Electoral Council will take place on 12 May, ie 15 days before the elections. On May 19, the designation of control commissions and clerks will be given by the higher courts of the judicial district, 10 days before the elections.

May 20 is the deadline for drawing lots and appointing voting judges, i.e. 15 days before the vote. Likewise, on May 25, the publication of the list of jurors entitled to vote is socialized, 10 calendar days before the vote.

On June 2, the immunity of the members of the audit committees, their secretaries and their key holders will take effect 48 hours before the audit begins.

On June 4, the day of the consultation and the beginning of the district, municipality and auxiliary votes. The district, city, and auxiliary ballots continue on June 5, and general ballots begin on June 6.
