“Caído en combate” were the first words of the trill, in which Barreras indicates that he respects justice.

“Court decisions are respected, even if they seem unfair to me. I will continue to fulfill my duty until I am informed,” the senator explained.

In addition, he added that he has a custody to restore the rights of their voters.

“They anticipated my medical retirement announced a few days ago six months ago. I will come back. Colombia will continue to count on me.”

That is what the Supreme Court concluded “survived in double militancy for violating his constitutional duty to resign his seat 12 months before the date of registration for the 2022-2026 congressional elections in order to present himself before another community”.

The Fifth Section indicated that it analyzed the constitutional norms applicable to the case and the corporation’s precedents, and determined that with Legislative Acts 01 of 2003 and 2009, the voter sought to strengthen the banking system and discipline of party members.

It was further stated that “the defendant’s expulsion from the La U party did not relieve him of his duty to resign from the seat, within the constitutionally established timeframe.
