Lollobrigida denies reconstructions over appointments: “No tension with the League”

In recent days, the background on alleged tensions between the Brothers of Italy, the party led by Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, and the League over appointments has gone to waste. Reconstructions that do not appear for Francesco Lollobrigida, Minister of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty and Forests, who gave an interview to Corriere della Sera about this: “I did not register any confrontation, any tension between us and the League. In fact, there was a very serene climate at the CDM, we approved everything on the agenda”.

The FdI deputy also denied that the postponement of appointments to the top of the Fiamme Gialle and the Police was born out of a tug of war that Meloni and Mantovano fought with Giorgetti and Crosetto: “I don’t know if there was something on the agenda that wasn’t approved. I’m not aware of any Meloni blitz and there were no postponements. I saw Guido and Giancarlo and Giorgia and Alfredo at the CDM and I didn’t notice any tension. If before there was a discussion about fundamental issues, it ended in a very positive way, very serene. There is nothing that could shake the frank, loyal and deeply respectful relationship between Meloni and Crosetto, also due to a proven friendship. And I believe – underlines the minister – that I can say the same of Giorgetti”.

Among the many topics addressed is also that of CEO Rai Carlo Fuortes, leaving public television after the law that took his name out of the newspapers: “It seems to me that nobody forced him to leave and I believe that the law allows me to stay. Nobody – reiterated Lollobrigida to the newspaper – made a provision to commission Rai, there is no direct action from the government. Fuortes in theory still has a year left in Rai. He is an intelligent person and if he wants to go somewhere else, I think he is free to do so. If, on the other hand, if the directors were to be recomposed, this would be done with the rules and balances guaranteed to each government”.
