Emilia-Romagna, Macron reaches out to Meloni: “Ready to help”

Giorgia Meloni showed the other G7 leaders the damage caused by the flood in Emilia Romagna. During the summit, according to Italian sources, the Prime Minister continued to receive updated photos about the disaster caused by bad weather and, thus, seeing her distraught, the other big names – including presidents Joe Biden and Emmanuel Macron, as well as Chancellor Olaf Scholz and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen – asked him if there was a problem. Thus, the leader of the Brothers of Italy showed the photos of what happened in Emilia-Romagna, receiving the solidarity of the leaders, some of whom called on the ambassadors in Italy to better understand the situation.

“I told Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni that we are ready to provide any useful assistance,” French President Emmanuel Macron’s message in a tweet in which he speaks of the terrible wave of bad weather that has caused at least 14 deaths. “Italy is hit by floods that have caused enormous damage. Whole neighborhoods destroyed. We think of the victims and the families who lost everything. France is in solidarity,” said Macron. Another message of relaxation from the tenant of the Elysée, who, unlike his ministers, is trying to ease the clash with the center-right Italian government.
