Book fair, Ronzulli defends Roccella: “Squadrismo”. Then he denounces the silence of the left

The political news of the day is the strong protest against the Minister of the Family Eugenia Roccella held at the Turin Book Fair. The entire center-right denounced the episode, starting with Licia Ronzulli, leader of Forza Italia in the Senate: “Once again we have to record yet another episode of squadronism, this time against Minister Roccella, on the part of those who intend to assert their reasons in a violent and intolerable way. Because preventing someone from speaking, as the activists of the Extinction Rebellion and Non una di meno did today at the Book Fair, making it impossible for the minister to present her book ‘A radical family’, can only be defined as anti-democratic and aggressive, and finds no justification. On my behalf and on behalf of the Forza Italia group of senators, I wish to express my most affectionate solidarity with Minister Roccella, hoping that the left, always very ‘sensitive’ to intolerant behavior, will condemn this very serious episode ”.

The President of the Senate, Ignazio La Russa, is in the same vein: “I find what happened today at the Turin Book Fair extremely serious, where the Minister of the Roccella Family was prevented from presenting his book and freely expressing his ideas. Just two days ago, on the occasion of the inauguration of this very important fair, he wanted to reiterate – the exponent of the Brothers from Italy recalls – the importance of culture and not of creating fences. Unfortunately, we are facing yet another anti-democratic act that cannot but deserve my firm condemnation and I also hope that from all political forces. My solidarity goes to Minister Roccella”.
