Bad weather in Emilia-Romagna, Salvini scolds Schlein: “An idea that could make us lose months”

Matteo Salvini, Minister of Infrastructure, participated in the press conference at the Bologna City Hall on the floods in Emilia-Romagna, together with Stefano Bonaccini, President of the Emilia-Romagna Region, and Matteo Piantedosi, Minister of the Interior. The Deputy Prime Minister and leader of the League explored possible solutions for allocating additional funds to areas affected by bad weather: “At this time, with open discussions with Brussels to reframe what is available in any hydrogen funds, to schools , popular housing , dispersal of water, stadiums if we open another dossier I sincerely fear that we will never return home A country like Italy, the second largest industrial power in Europe, does not need to reformulate European finances to return homes, businesses and tranquility to the populations of Romagna and Emilia affected by the floods of these hours. In this way, a serious country can find the money without having to reopen dossiers that risk lasting months”.

“We cannot allow dialogue with Brussels. I take a billion from popular housing to intervene in the flood and open a phase that lasts for months. I welcome the spirit of Elly Schlein’s proposal, the goal is common, to find money and intervene quickly. Diverting or rescheduling the funds agreed with Europe, transferring them from item A to item B, risks – the dick on the secretary of the Democratic Party – taking a long time to reach the goal. That’s why I’m happy to discuss with the Secretary of the Democratic Party how to hurry, but the restructuring of European funds by reopening negotiations with Brussels risks losing us months and we don’t have the money for that”. Schlein’s idea was quickly shelved.

But Salvini – through a post on Instagram – also has it for another piece of the left, the one who raises his voice in a difficult moment: “In front of Bologna City Hall, where we will take stock of infrastructure and transport in Emilia -Romagna , someone on the left finds the courage to protest, at a time that should unite the entire country.
