Terrorists in France, center-right motion passes. Pd and M5S also vote in favor

With 265 votes yes, votes against and 7 abstentions, the Chamber of Deputies approves the motion presented by the majority on the failed extradition of some ‘red’ terrorists from France to applause. In the text, with the Brothers of Italy as the first signatory, the center-right – which received the favorable votes of the Democratic Party and the 5 Star Movement – commits the government “to adopting all the initiatives within its competence aimed at providing all the necessary and due assistance to the relatives of the victims of the crimes committed by the ten Italian terrorists who took refuge in France, in their already announced intention to appeal to the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg against the decision of the French Court of Cassation”.

In addition, with this provision, the coalition formed by FdI, Lega and Forza Italia asks, “without prejudice to the intention of not wanting to interfere in internal affairs”, to “sensitize the French authorities to explore all possible solutions, compatible with the its legal order and with EU legislation on judicial cooperation in criminal matters, in order to respond to the legitimate request for justice from the next of kin of the victims of the ten Italian terrorists”. And all parties have responded, avoiding divisions on an issue that is dear to all, regardless of political colors and flags.
